How We Moved Our PVC Window Sales Online and What Came of It

Throughout my life, I’ve been working in the PVC window sales industry. Until 2022, most sales happened offline: calls, meetings, measurements—the classic format. But the war, population outflow, and declining demand forced us to look for new ways. We decided to focus on online sales—and we don’t regret it.

In this article, I’ll share how we launched a full-fledged online store for windows, which IT tools we used, what worked, and what didn’t. I believe our experience will be useful for anyone in traditional industries who is considering digital transformation.

🔨 Getting Started: From Offline to the First Website

We were operating regionally—in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, Pavlograd city. We had a showroom, advertising banners, and word-of-mouth promotion. At some point, we created a simple website, but it mostly served as a business card.

The first push for change came from COVID. The second was the full-scale invasion. Clients lost the desire to go out, and we were losing orders. It became clear: if we’re not online, we don’t exist at all.

🌐 An Online Window Store? It’s Possible!

We decided to build a full website with a catalog, prices, order forms, and payment options. We launched Windplast—an online store for windows, double-glass units, roller blinds, and mosquito nets.

🛠 Tools we used:

  • WordPress + WooCommerce — as a universal platform
  • ACF (Advanced Custom Fields) — for custom product fields and specifications
  • Google Analytics + Meta Pixel

✅ What Worked

SEO
We optimized pages for queries like “buy PVC windows Dnipro” or “double-glass units Pavlograd.” We added unique descriptions, keywords, and organized the URL structure. Within 2–3 months, the first organic orders began to appear.

Online Calculator
We added an interactive price calculator. It increased trust and reduced the workload for our managers.

Content: Real Photos from Projects
Photos showing “before/after,” measurement details, and installation processes. People see that we’re real and local.

Feedback Forms and Payment
Clients can request a consultation, choose sizes, submit an order, or pay online.

❌ What Didn’t Work

Google Ads
With a small budget and high competition, clicks were expensive and didn’t convert. We plan to return to ads after a full audit.

Facebook Ads to Cold Audiences
Without clear segmentation, it’s a waste of money. We are now testing remarketing and Lookalike audiences.

Chats Instead of Forms
People tend to order through forms rather than writing in messengers. This may be specific to our niche.

💡 Advice for Those Moving a “Traditional” Business Online

  • Don’t wait—build a website, even a simple one.
  • Focus on trust—real photos, stories, and case studies.
  • Content is your best salesperson.
  • Be accessible—online forms, phone numbers, Viber, email.
  • Automate routine tasks—email newsletters, automated responses, analytics.

🔚 Conclusion

Digitalization isn’t just for IT companies. Small, regional businesses can—and should—be online. It’s not only convenient but also helps survive challenging times.

The Windplast online store continues to operate. We adapt, test, and learn. If our experience resonates with you—find us on Google 🙂
